It's not a buzz word, ecosystem is a thing. And it's a big thing. Ecosystem says that your business process A will talk to your business process B seemlessly and without you having to jump through hoops to make it happen.

If the word makes your head spin, think about Google, Apple and ZOHO - three companies with amazing ecosystems. Google docs will easily talk to Google mail which also integrates with Google drive. Apple's iPhone is so tightly integrated into their computers that you can make phone calls on your computer and copy and paste between devices. ZOHO's line of products are all designed to take a single component application and turn it into a robust complete business suite.

Think about your own ecosystem, or lack of an ecosystem. Do you have data in multiple places that don't talk to each other? Do you do double entry for any reason whatsoever? Can your clients use your web site or an app on their phone or tablet to initiate a substantial relationship with you rather than just shoot you a generic "please call me" email? How is your ecosystem?
